    Update 1.3.0

Hey awesome people, It’s been a while since we’ve updated Lawbringer. We’ve been working on some promising new stuff and we’re anxious to show you what’s next in store for us. But Lawbringer needs some love and attention too, as we feel there’s still a few things we could add or improve. This update is all about quality of life and fixes. Here’s the changelog: Gameplay changes and additions - Clash detection is now much more forgiving and predictable. There should be fewer instances of player taking damage after clashing with an enemy. This should also provide greater control over triggering Clash related Perks, such as Clusterflak or Flash of Light. - Added an input buffer for major actions. This prevents mistiming of control inputs and adds some leeway to player’s attack rhythm. - Added a setting for attacking towards the mouse cursor when playing on mouse and keyboard. With this setting on, the cursor is always visible. This should give the M&K players a bit more control, as melee attacks are no tied to movement orientation. - Added in-world floating damage numbers when dealing damage to enemies. This should provide a better visibility into the effectiveness of builds. This option is turned on by default, but can be switched off in the Settings menu. - Added contextual in-world health and stamina bars for the player, making it easier to track your status while fighting. On by default, but can be turned off in the Settings menu. - Added a large timer warning when the timer is almost depleted (Deadly Timer only). - Increased stamina gain from Perks. Fixes - Fixed damage scaling and stamina cost issues with Bruiser, Swordsmith and Reave Perks. - Fixed a visual bug with the rotation of the gun. - Fixed a cursor visibility issue when switching between menus and gameplay. Menus - Added settings for the new mechanics and UI additions. - Added a link to our Discord server on the main page That’s it for now! We have a plan for at least a couple of more updates, but the ne...

    Update 1.2.6

Hey awesome people, Update 1.2.6 is now live! Here's the list of stuff we added: GAMEPLAY CHANGES AND ADDITIONS - Block and Parry have been reworked. Blocking now shields the player against melee attacks from all sides, but can be broken after several consecutive hits. - Parrying an enemy (initiating block at the time of the enemy's attack) staggers them, leaving them exposed to a counterattack. - Enemy behaviors and level design have been modified to prevent AI from getting stuck on obstacles and behind walls. - Trap triggers are now marked by a visible outline, which should make them more obvious to the players. VISUALS - Added a bubble animation effect for Block. - Added shake and post-processing effects when blocking attacks. - Added an outline animation for traps. FIXES - Traps now correctly disappear when the last enemy in a round is killed. Players can now interact with the body and read the lore entries without worrying about the traps and stray bullets. - Fixed faulty physics colliders on several static objects throughout the arena.

    Update 1.2.0

Hey awesome people, Update 1.2.0 is now live! Here's the list of stuff we added: GAMEPLAY CHANGES AND ADDITIONS - Added six new perks. They're all about guns and are a blast to play with! - Leveling up doesn't automagically trigger the perk selection screen by default. It can now be triggered by holding the interact key at any point during gameplay. Players can turn on the auto level up options in the Settings menu. - Player's body now appears right before the best round from a previous run. The game timer stops to give the player some breathing room before pushing forward. Picking up the body rewards the player with a small lore tidbit and a buff - just enough to help push through the next milestone. - Changed the leveling thresholds a bit to squeeze in a few more perks before things get REALLY difficult. Dev Notes: Guns in the game got some much-needed attention - especially in scaling and versatility. New perks add some nice interplay between melee and ranged combat and greatly improve viability of Cort (the default revolver) throughout the run. While auto level up makes sense from the instant reward perspective, your feedback showed us that it can often break the flow of combat and leave players in a vulnerable position. This change gives more control to the player - including reverting back to auto level up, if it feels better. LORE - Added a Lorebook! It's accessible via the menu screen and aggregates all collected lore entries. - Added lore entries for our protagonist, Yuma. Unlike enemy lore entries, Yuma's lore is unlocked by interacting with his body in-between rounds. VISUALS - Added post processing effects for some extra oomph during combat. - Added animated outlines to accentuate level-up and important interactives. FIXES - Fixed Stun, Slow and Stagger behaviors on enemies. - Fixed an issue where Conjuration Beasts sometimes continue walking when they should be dying. - Fixed an issue with bullets missing enemies that are close or running towards the pl...

    Update 1.1.0

Hey awesome people, Update 1.1.0 is now live! Here's what we added: FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS - Integrated Steam Leaderboard and added an in-game leaderboard UI. You can now see how you rank relative to other players. The game scores you on two metrics: how far you got (Best Round) and how aggressive you're playing (Highest Favor). Beat the devs for extra street cred! - Best Round and Highest Favor on the HUD will now sync with Steam Leaderboard scores. - Added a round counter to the HUD. - Added a list of perks acquired during the current run. The list is shown in the upper left corner on pause or perks selection screen. BALANCING AND GAMEPLAY CHANGES - Player can now dodge over/through spike traps and not take any damage from it. - Increased dodge invulnerability duration slightly. - Modified traps colliders to prevent triggering outside of the trap's sprite. FIXES - Fixed an issue where traps would occasionally remove invulnerability from the player. - Fixed an issue where exploding Conjuration Beast would sometimes also explode the game.

    Patch 1.0.3 Is Live

Hi awesome people! The patch 1.0.3 brings some much-needed changes to the game's difficulty, especially for new players: DIFFICULTY AND BALANCING - Timer/Favor no longer kills the player when it reaches zero by default. Favor is still the primary scoring stat of the game and slowly diminishes over time - and is gained by killing enemies. Losing it can now only hurt your pride. - Deadly Timer kicks in automatically once the player have reached Round 10, but it can be turned off completely in the Settings menu. - Starting Favor increased to 30. Dev Note: We got a lot of feedback regarding the punishing timer mechanic. While the instant death was meant to promote a more aggressive play, it impacted new players in the negative way - punishing them for taking time to learn the game and enemy behavior patterns. We decided to keep it as an optional rule for more challenging and hectic runs. - Enemies get progressively more challenging after Round 13. - Increased Wraith damage. - Reduced Stamina cost for Heavy Attack. FIXES - Fixed an issue where dying from traps would show incorrect stats on the death screen. We want traps to ruin your runs, not your stats. - Fixed an issue where players would accidentally start their first run from the welcome tutorial screen and bypass the initial training. CONTENT - Added new tutorial screens in line with the new mechanic changes.
