    June Devlog

Happy June! Going on Vacation towards the end of this month so I'm getting the Devlog out a little earlier.Updated LightingProbably the biggest visual problem of current Gerascopia builds; the lighting engine. It was hobbled together by displaying a bunch of tiles with different opacities, which caused a lot of visual problems, and affected performance pretty drastically. If youve had any performance problems in previous versions, this mightve been the reason. This will also make certain areas with brighter backgrounds look a lot better!Updated Visual EffectsWater, and other areas, will now give you more effects. Theyre meant to be as subtle as possible while still feeling like theyre there. Snake's PathAn additional area that's being added to this update will act as a connector between each of the 4 main areas. The entrances may be closed, but once open, they will be open forever (unless, you delete your save file or something).Additional Progression InformationMost of this month has been dedicated to respriting a lot of old stuff. icons may look more polished and sprites have a new layer of paint.I'm additionally working on adding a lot more puzzles in the newer areas. I'm suprised how little puzzles are in Gerascopia at the moment. Its either finding a hole in the wall or something so cryptic you need an insane amount of luck to find it.Additionally, the scope of this update is going to be decently big, but I'm getting a vibe for when it might be out. im NOT giving you a date because my track record for release dates is very bad.

    2 Year Anniversary Update

{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43467413/3fb0322c3292f2da865fd5e08ce602aedd58d4c1.gif Happy 2 year of GeraScopia! Im gonna get straight into the dev log. I've changed my mind on a lot of previous changes I had planned, so I want to confirm what I'm going to and not going to do. Its a lot bigger of an update than I thought. Wordy stuff is at the end. Content Update {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43467413/8dc26fe8b4c93747ba5e6a9fb94e1fd27c53fbfc.png It's Blue! Outside of expanding every current area, I will be adding a couple new areas. At minimum I want to add at least 4 new areas. I will also be adding more detail to already existing areas, giving them more identifiable landmarks to prevent completely getting lost. Updated Banner {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43467413/8fa5f74a808aea617281f83808d0edf7e859fab7.png When the update drops, I plan on updating the splash art of the game. Animation Updates {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43467413/17ac83c2cac36bba29f61ca37f1c084b5138714b.gif {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43467413/12e0f93101a4c5a6874d566ae36fe6c69f7888a7.gif The game is getting a slight artistic overhaul; nothing major, just updating some inconsistent sprites and designs. This will have no major effect on the game Updated Mechanics {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43467413/ecebdc244494199c192d261ae3f0505dbaf93ba8.gif Outside of reworking certain tools (The torch being a main one), there will be more movement options in the newest update. Portrait Updates {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43467413/f052e52f1e2aca09920a84318e7cc58ba733761e.gif Alongside animation updates, major portraits will be getting an overhaul as well. I've grown a lot artistically in the past year and I want that to be reflective in the final state I leave GeraScopia in. Fishing Update The Fishing Minigame will be getting updated portraits, waves, and costumes. MISC. Updates Gallery More Monsters New Random Rooms New Endings New Minigame Word Salad DevLog Yoyoyo! This updates been a while in the making and honestly something I've spent too long thinking about. Originally, I wa...

    GERASCOPIA 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARRRRY

Gerascopia is Officially 1 Year old! Woohoo! Thanks for playing and supporting the project so far! I have a few more things up my sleeve for the game, and some general announcements. Content Update I'm planning on adding final big content update later this year. This will be mostly centered around adding a large amount of random events, and a few other things. This will also add a Gallery, and Some Achievements (Yes... I'm doing it.), and secret stuff..... Its not going to be as big as "The Wrong Places", but it will make replays more unique. You might be wondering why this isn't releasing today, and its mostly cause.... What I've been doing If you arent aware, I've made a new project: Blood Poker. Its a smaller project thats a very hypervisual poker/horror game. I'd check it out if you havent. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43467413/ff7235503d15240777515b4d21669e69f6c4ee5b.gif Additionally. I've been developing another game: 52Beatup, and I need to finish it LOL. It's a Deck Building Fighting game, and Gera will be in the game. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43467413/d6c92343306d98ad89a6f36815252590cd050f4a.gif So all in all to say, I have been very busy. And I've been wanting to do this update for a while, but it will have to wait. Thanks for Reading! See you Soon!
