Embark on a vibrant journey as Adric Belfonte in Trans Theft Horso. Explore the chaotic desert, battle haters, and save missing hormones in this 2025 adventure RPG from Cow Children Games.

About this game

It's out!

Howdy-doody, friends of all genders! Trans Theft Horso is now out, and I hope it will bring hope and gender gladness (GGs). I've been working on this since its title came to me three years ago. I dearly wanted to play the game I imagined when I heard the words 'Trans Theft Horso', but nobody else was making it, so I summoned it into existence myself.

Which of us has never longed to traverse the West, striving for justice, with a skunk on our head for company and protection?

About the Game

Adric Belfonté never wanted to go west, but a small task, picking up their brother's hormones, turns into a wild and western fantasy of crime and adventure!

Explore the bewaffling and dangerous west! Defy the admirals, ride the animals, fight the haters, seek the missing, and discover why the medicine routes dried up. The West is full of friends and enemies, of lobsters and monsters, and the two great gee-gees: horses and gender gladness!

A feverish LGBTQ fantasy adventure, in full colour! Go west, young enby! Have fun, and beware!

Trans Theft Horso discount for nonbinary-coded games

It's time for the nonbinary-coded games sale, and that's precisely what Trans Theft Horso is! (A game, not a sale). I recommend perusing the other games in this lively summer event and buying as many as your heart desires. Some fun Trans Theft Horso facts:In two days it will be July 15th, the first anniversary of the game's release date. Happy birthday, Trans Theft HorsoTrans Theft Horso recently went to A MAZE Festival, Berlin and won the Most Amazing Game Award, which was amazing astonishing!Trans Theft Horso was at the Glasgow Indie Games Festival yesterday and the day before, and I met a lot of interesting game-making and game-making people -- and most of us are both of these things.Trans Theft Horso will be in Cologne late in August at GamesCom. It's prompting me to travel a lot more than I used to! (I hadn't been on a plane since 1995, but have had quite a turnaround).I might be in another couple of cities before the year is out. We shall see! There will be more updates for TTH, including one squashing a couple of annoying visual bugs in a week or so.I went on eight trains this weekend, and saw many horses in fields. Also cows and sheep I find this heartening! (It was by no means supposed to be that many trains, but you know how things are).Hello!

A MAZE Award for Trans Theft Horso

Hello! I'm delighted to announce that Trans Theft Horso has been awarded the grand prize - that of Most Amazing Game - at A MAZE Games and Playful Media Festival in Berlin. This is an honour beyond my wildest expectations! You can hear my bewaffled acceptance speech, and the majestic description given by the judges. I'm not a person with a high self-esteem, so seeing my labour of love recognised like this has been an astonishing vindication, and a boon in casting off years of impostor syndrome.I'm especially glad to bring some additional gender gladness into the world with this game. May we all prosper in Gender Gladness!I strongly recommend checking out the other winners and nominees from this year's A MAZE. There are a wide variety of games, all worthy of great praise. I would struggle to name all my favourites, but the first to come to mind as recommendations are Stealth Crossword (introducing stealth mechanics into a genre which never needed it, and doing so richly and wonderfully), Lucky Castaway (which I found highly addictive), Pigeon: A Love Story (which I've followed since its playtesting), Easy Delivery Co (which defies its title, and which I need to play a lot more of soon) and The Wide Open Sky is Running out of Catfish (which is such an experience).I would have happily been gazumped to success by any of the four other games in my category: Sire, Peppered, Skate Story and Manifest Your Dream Job Sleep Marathon -- I quite expected this to be the case, and I recommend giving them ample attention. I also wish y'all could have been there in person to enjoy Unsettled (an astonishing work of plastic and light), InSync (a beautiful creature I loved with my whole heart) and the sheer theatre of LabRats. As I say, I'd love to praise all 33 of the nominees, plus the Open Screens, the games from the village and the volunteers who made it all happen. I haven't played everything, so I've stuck to the ones I was able to give my attention and my heart to.Also, a shout ou...

Trans Theft Horso: an Art Book

In under three weeks, Trans Theft Horso will be at A MAZE Festival or Playful Media in Berlin. I've produced an art-book (available digitally on Steam) so I can have something for people to flick through and get the measure of the game without needing to play for six hours or so.Enjoy (if you wish) a hundred pages of trans, of theft and of horso, with ample Henny, lots of early and alternative designs, and a few of the game's strangest secrets uncovered.

Trans Theft Horso is going to A MAZE in Berlin

Good news, everybody! Trans Theft Horso has been nominated for some awards at A MAZE Games and Playful Media Festival in Berlin. I'll be there, championing the game, speaking my limited German, and meeting lots of creative people among the nominees, exhibitors and audience. This is very exciting for me, as (1) I'm not the sort of person who gets nominated for awards at European festivals and (2) there's a chance we might win an award and (3) this will be my first time going abroad in over half my lifetime. I'm particularly excited to go to Germany, a country which has produced some of my favourite things including (a) sausages and (b) lots of good movies, especially (c) Die Zweite Heimat, which is one of my favourite films, even though nobody I talk to has ever heard of it.So yes! I will be over in Berlin with one of my favourite friends, and we'll be doing whatever people do at festivals. Come along and say hello, or just come along without saying hello -- whichever suits you best. The festival is from the 13th-16th of May 2026.Also, Trans Theft Horso is on discount this week, right now, until March 26th. This isn't exciting enough to get its own announcement, but it's a fact! There will be more updates in the coming months, and an art-book too, because why not?

    AdventureX Sale

Howdy-doody! Trans Theft Horso is currently on its lowest ever sale to celebrate its inclusion in AdventureX, a glorious convention celebrating narrative games. The convention has come and gone -- I met many wonderful game devs and many wonderful other humans who (openly or behind closed doors) desired to be game devs. It was an honour to be on display - our Trans Theft Horso booth was between Dark Queen or Morthholme and Midnight Barber, and in close proximity to Dusk Punk and Mops & Mobs -- all intriguing games and very good neighbours to have. I advise you to take a gander at the wide selection of games in the current AdventureX sale. My other particular favourites include Truer Than You and D3AD HAND.I encourage you to check out some of these games and enjoy them as much as I'm doing. If you haven't bought Trans Theft Horso yet (and/or its soundtrack) I'd encourage doing so while it's on sale too. 'Tis the season!
