Bad News for Spellsphere, Good News for Other Games.
Hi all, Got some more sad news about the release of Spellsphere's beta. Though Spellsphere is still my passion, I find it harder and harder to get the motivation to work on it. As such, I am announcing that Spellsphere's beta will take even more time to come out. Don't worry, as the game will still be worked on, it just won't be top priority. There is still an update coming out soon that will bring systems such as save/load, pausing, and a proper title screen. Instead, Let me introduce you to some other games I am working on and am passionate about finishing, that will each be developed and released soon. INFINITY CHAMBER - My top priority right now as far as games go, INFINITY CHAMBER. It is a post-apocalyptic, 2D, gameplay-focused unique game that is a mix of fighting and beat 'em up. It will play similarly to games such as GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-, Brawlhalla, YOMI hustle, Dying Light, and Pokémon. Extraction - Extracion is another game I'm working on. It is a unique, sidescrolling Horror Game where a tapeworm that feeds off of adrenaline has gotten into the protagonist's brain, and is changing his perception of reality for the worst. Inspirations include Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and FAITH: The Unholy Trinity The Endless FIght Against Numerous Gods - The Endless FIght Against Numerous Gods, or TEFANG for short, is a 2d boss-rush game where you have to fight against randomly-generated deities terrorizing villages. It is similar to games such as Rogue Legacy, Terraria, and Cuphead. Again, I'm sorry for the numerous Spellsphere delays, but this is an announcement of all the games I'm currently designing and developing.Read full article on Community Announcements (Sledge169)AnnouncementsOfficial
Spellsphere's beta
Hello everyone! The Beta for Spellsphere has a much bigger scope than I could've imagined, so I've opted for a segmented release, with the beta update slowly coming out over the span of 5 smaller updates. The release date for each update is currently unknown, but more details will come as each gets closer. System Update The first update will include better UI, menus, and a fully functional settings menu, as well as a proper save/load system. Area update The second update will refine the enemies and bosses of the already existing areas, and will add two new areas with their own enemies, mechanics, and boss: The Sewers and The Royal Gardens. Crystal update The third update will add crystals, a new way to level orbs mid-run, allowing for more run variety and builds. Shop update The fourth update will refine the shop areas, and include more items, boosting and adding to the characters moveset during a run. This may also include some new NPCs. Hub update The fifth and final update will overhaul the hub/starting level in the dungeon, making new NPCs, a post-game leveling system, and more rooms, and even a new cosmetic system.Read full article on Community Announcements (Sledge169)Patch NotesOfficial
Spellsphere v0.2
Hi all, this is not the beta, but one last quick bug fix before the beta. Fixes Optimization Clutter and unnecessary objects have been removed to provide a smoother gameplay experience. A big cause of lag, which was that afterimages would not be removed after going invisible, has been fixed. Visuals Some shading issues that will take longer to fix are still present, but bugs such as props appearing on roofs in the village have been cleared. New feature There is a new feature; critical hits. Once every 2 seconds, you have a rare chance to get a critical strike, which creates a large circle around the hit enemy, also hitting nearby enemies. In the future, there are planned ways to increase the chance of critical strikes and the radius of the circle created by a successful critical hit.Read full article on Community Announcements (Sledge169)AnnouncementsOfficial
Spellsphere Alpha v0.1.9 is here!
Hello all! The new update for Spellsphere is here, bringing a lot of new features to the game. This is the last update before the Beta update, which will include a lot of new features. (More information on that below) New Features Orbs There are two new orbs included in this patch, the tunnel orb and the reverse orb. Tunnel Orb The tunnel orb acts as a normal orb, but it digs through walls upon contact, not returning. While it's inside a wall, its movement speed and gravity are halved, though they are returned to normal upon exiting the wall. This orb can be reclaimed either after it goes out of bounds, or if the player clicks. It will be instantly returned. This can be useful as you can hit enemies through walls with it if used well. Reverse Orb The reverse orb acts as a normal orb, but upon contacting anything, its movement direction will completely reverse, and it will go the way it came. It maintains gravity on impact. This can be useful as it can set up traps that hit most enemies going through it. Abilities There is one new ability added to this release, which is Relocate. Relocate Relocate has a short cooldown (1 sec.), and it takes any orbs that are out and instantly moves them to where your mouse cursor is. If both orbs are out, the primary orb is teleported first, then the secondary orb after a half-second delay. This can be useful as you can use it to angle orbs on enemies, move traps made out of certain orbs, or instantly hit them by releasing an orb at their location. It is good combined with slower orbs, as slower orbs give you more time to move your mouse cursor to the area you want. Visuals This update brings a ton of new visual upgrades. Props In the Dungeon and Village areas, there are now props you can find randomly scattered throughout the level, such as barrels, boxes, skulls, and more! Haze A new effect in the foreground is Haze, which are translucent circles and shapes that float around every room, adding atmosphere to levels. Afterimage When ...Read full article on Community Announcements (Sledge169)AnnouncementsOfficial
Spellsphere 0.1.6 release
Hi all, the new update for Spellsphere is out! Bug Fixes Clipping into walls with speedshift is fixed. Village loading screen not properly showing up is fixed. Balance Changes Number of bats spawned slightly increased Sorcerer first encounter health reduced Gravedigger's fight now spawns enemies based on the Gravedigger's attack, adding to difficulty and making the fight chaotic. Additions Arrow Bats Arrow bats are a variant of the regular bats that have a 33% chance of spawning instead of the regular bats. They look like normal bats, but they are redder in color, have longer ears, and have arrow-shaped teeth, hence the name. They approach the player the same as regular bats, and upon getting within a certain distance, will dive at the player until either a certain amount of time passes, or until hitting an object. They have 1 hp and will die upon contact with an orb, a damaging ability, or an object while mid-dive. If the dive is missed, there is a brief moment where the arrow bat is stunned and can be attacked easily. Chakram orb The Chakram orb is a new orb able to be granted from the random selection of orbs currently in this version. It is lighter than a regular orb and maintains its gravity upon contact with something. Appearance-wise, it is the same as a regular orb, but with a hole in the center of it, replicating an actual Chakram. More may be added to this orb in the future, such as piercing or being able to split orbs, though these ideas are not final and may not even happen. Next? More bugs will be fixed, such as the dialogue for the Gravedigger fight not appearing. No other changes are planned besides bug fixes and polishing. Art assets may be finished, with the currently unshaded ones getting shading. After the next update, there will be a short while before the update after, which is hopefully the Beta version of Spellsphere.Read full article on Community Announcements (Sledge169)
