Embark on a free-to-play adventure as Arem ventures into the vast, perilous megastructure known as "The Well." Navigate its treacherous corridors and confront unforeseen challenges in this unique indie RPG set for release in 2026.

About this game

Arem has lived his life surrounded by ocean waves and fields of dying grass. Upon his small island lies The Settlement, a community of just three thousand: the children of the sun. Passing the long years in prayer and simple work, the blessed people of the Island live and die by their traditions. Arem, like all young men and women of The Settlement, knows well the laws of his people: perform one's obligation for the greater good, and never enter The Well- a passage leading deep into the unknown earth below.

Raised as a Woundbearer, Arem greatly desires to come of age and do his part in improving the lives of his community- none more so than Sachita, the burning girl, shunned by The Settlement but whom he loves dearly.

Yet, when Arem is suddenly given the responsibilities he always dreamed of, he finds his certainty shattered by the truth of the horror held at The Settlement’s close reach. Now doubting the only life he's ever known, Arem embarks on a secret mission to save his people and unravel the true nature of his world.

Descending into the Well and desperately searching for answers, Arem comes to understand just how much he truly has to lose.

A Song of Sunlight features a novel pseudo-turn-based combat system that challenges players to fight for their lives against horrifying enemies. Make split-second calculated decisions, then attack, block, evade, and look for openings in real-time against multiple targets in thrilling combat encounters.

By day, carry out your duties to the Settlement and interact with its inhabitants to obtain resources and learn more about the world.

By night, explore desolate megastructures filled with mystery and danger, discover weapons and equipment lost to humanity, and customize your build to suit many distinct play styles.

A tightly woven intersection of gameplay and narrative, players will interact with the game world and characters in depth.

A Song Of Sunlight Ch. 1/2 Release Version - Patch 1.0.3

Surprise- another update. (I probably should have waited to release Portuguese until now so I could bundle them together but... oh well.)A friend of mine has been helping me add some much requested quality of life features to ASoS and it came together very quickly! Here's what's new in 1.0.3:The game install/file size has been significantly reduced from 13GB to 600MB (yes) Controllers will now automatically be detected by the game and switch your control scheme accordingly, no need to use the keyboard to change the settings anymore! This should make the Steam Deck experience much better. However, I'm still not officially supporting Steam Deck, so the aspect ratio will break the UI in some places. A workaround for this for the time being is to change your steam deck resolution in the settings to 1920x1080.Steam Cloud Save is now supported. The game will now automatically lock/hide the cursor while the game is open, so no need to move the cursor out of the way while playing. The minimap will no longer display your dropped memory iron icon in an area where the map should be hidden. Portuguese (BR) has received a number of grammatical changes and improvements.

A Song of Sunlight - Portuguese (BR) Language Support!

It's time for another localization- as of patch 1.0.21, Brazilian Portuguese is now available in ASoS! Tell your friends! A huge thank you this time to my Portuguese translator Kayoto for their hard work! It's insane how quickly this one came together. I know I mentioned that there were two more planned localizations in my Chinese update post last month, but if you can believe it, this one wasn't even included in that plan! Not only was Portuguese finished in between then and now, but in that same time another volunteer translator has approached me to begin work on their language's translation too. So, now we have three more on the horizon! (I won't say what they are just yet in case anything changes, though). Until next time!

A Song Of Sunlight - Patch 1.0.2 + Chinese Language Support!

I'm very excited to announce that Simplified Chinese (简体中文) language support has been added to ASoS! Tell your friends! I'd like to sincerely thank my translator aita for their time and hard work making this possible. Not only did they complete the entire translation solo but they also did an amazing job- I couldn't be more grateful. Chinese is the first in what will be (hopefully) three planned localizations of the game that are currently in the works. No eta but I'll be sure and let everyone know when they're ready! Stay tuned. In addition to the new language, I've made a few small tweaks to the game in patch 1.0.2:A small supply of Perfect Metal is now sold by the Scout Ancestor.Perfect Metal is now a rare drop from several enemies in The Well. Enemies can now only drop up to two distinct items at a time. The 'Story Mode' setting will now save. Added extra UI for Archimancy items in the loadout screen.Fixed small bug related to the quest display accidentally appearing while in the choice UI.Fixed fight quest NPCs not automatically moving Arem when choosing to accept or decline.Fixed two potential softlocks during the Archimancy tutorial.Updated some tutorial slides to better support localization. Fixed a ton of small grammar and spelling errors.

A Song of Sunlight OST - Vol. 1 available now!

Hey there!I'd like to start by saying that the overwhelming support the game has received over the past few days has been incredible- I'm speechless at both how kind the reviews have been and the momentum that the game currently has. This 'launch' has completely blown ArmaCulture out of the water and I never even expected it to do half as well as this. Again, thank you!In any case, I'm happy to announce that A Song of Sunlight OST - Vol. 1 is available for purchase right now on steam! It covers the music of the first two chapters (all the music currently in game). Expect another volume down the road to cover the music of future chapters. If you'd like to support me, head on over to the steam page to check it out!Until next time,RageForDragons
