Explore the deep strategy involving enemy abilities, tower interactions, tower placements, rushing waves, and more!
There are many tactics you need to employ to survive. One mechanic involves breaking the barbarian's shield, which requires inflicting the burn and slow status before stunning it with lightning. Another is with tower placements because projectiles will miss if enemies are not properly aligned with its path. Min-maxing involves rushing waves which gives you 3 times as much cash but 80% less time to defeat your enemies! And these are only a few of the many mechanics in this game.
Gain permanent power ups and use unlockable weapons to open the endless possibilities.
And a huge thanks to the creators of the assets from the Unreal Engine Marketplace (see credits page on website). Thanks for playing!

The full release has been announced to be November 6th! I'm excited to finally put closure on this game, and many fixes have been added. There's a ton of new content including four new enemies and a new map. And a complete rework on health and damage calculations has been added to balance the game. All planned features are now complete, so future updates will only have bug fixes. Expect a sale on the release date of November 6th! Update v0.8 Truly Endless
https://koalasintraffic.github.io/spd/news/2023/09/10/truly-endless/ The last hotfix I made introduced bugs, so I’m releasing a new update with these fixes. The new wall tower should allow you to fix your maze despite the bosses’ abilities. And finally, endless mode is now almost truly endless! For endless, your computer may experience performance issues due to having too many enemies in the game… Don’t forget to use items as they deal percent damage. Also, I added a beta global leaderboard system, several bug fixes, and balanced some of the towers. Endless wave generation Endless waves technically stop once the potential score you can get reaches 2 billion, so not truly endless but it’s very hard to reach that point. Health and damage datatypes have been changed to handle values up to 1e300. Serfs are now significantly easier at high levels. Before, their health increased faster than the main waves. Now, it’s been changed to be calculated based on the main wave’s health. Points you can make: https://koalasintraffic.github.io/spd/scoring Money you can make: https://koalasintraffic.github.io/spd/money Mazing Push backs and sucking from the Dragon and Final Boss have been changed for mazing only. Now they will deal 10 damage to towers (same amount of damage as the Kraken). This will make mazing a lot less random than before. Fixed bug where the Final Boss could swap the new wall tower. Tower updates Max tower level has been increased to 100. This max level is the bottleneck for endless. Wall tower sell value has been changed so it gives the full refund. Beam tower can no longer be displaced or swapped to prevent making the tower useless. Beam visuals have been reduced for better visibility. Slow tower has been significantly nerfed. Slow starts at 6% and maxes at level 8 with a 48% movement reduction. Stun tower bonus damage to bosses is now x3 again. Bosses are just really hard… Buff weapon Changed to heal for 10% of the tower’s max health instead of just 1 HP. This a...Read full article on Community Announcements (Koalas in Traffic)Patch NotesOfficial
Update 0.7 Hotfix - Endless Improvements and Wall Tower
https://koalasintraffic.github.io/spd/news/2023/09/05/endless-improvements-and-wall-tower/ Thanks to RAMBO’s feedback, I realized that an additional incentive to rushing waves was needed. Also, mazing levels were not well-designed for endless so I’ve added an indestructible wall tower that allows you to fix your maze with the drawback of consuming cash and building space. I think these two changes really improve certain drawbacks of the game, so I’m releasing it now instead of during the next major update. New wall tower for mazing At the cost of $3, a zero-damage wall tower can be built that cannot be moved or destroyed by enemies but still blocks enemy movement. This tower sells for $0 to make looping slightly less overpowered. Only available for mazing levels. Also, all mazing levels will have all towers unlocked for coding simplicity… Rushing When I first made the game, the incentive of rushing was to get enough points for 5 stars. But this aspect is actually detrimental in endless mode. You will now get up to 200% more cash when rushing. This bonus cash is scaled depending on how much of the full 24 seconds is rushed. This means cash from waves will now range from x1 to x3. Now you actually get MORE cash if you rushed the full 24 seconds rather than if you waited for the waves to spawn. This bonus is surprisingly very balanced from my calculations, as it gives a reasonable percentage more than if not rushing. Tower changes Max tower level is now 20. Max upgraded beam tower can now reach 4 million damage. With 8 buffs, it can deal a 1 billion damage! (And enemies can only have a maximum of 2 billion health) Beam damage per second has been nerfed from 1/6 to 1/10. Slow tower now has a limit of 80% on its slow (which can be reached at level 19). Also slow per level is now 4% instead of 5%. Stun tower bonus damage to bosses has been nerfed from x3 to x2. Miscellaneous changes Bonus points UI now shows cash and bonus cash as well. Commas have been added to most numb...Read full article on Community Announcements (Koalas in Traffic)Patch NotesOfficial
Update v0.7 New Map and Tower Rework
https://koalasintraffic.github.io/spd/news/2023/08/17/new-map-and-tower-rework/ Towers now have some additional abilities to make leveling up at lower levels more beneficial. This will hopefully make it more interesting for new players. Additionally, a brand new map has been released in beta mode! Several quality of life changes have been made (huge thanks to Siopilos). Also, several minor bugs have been fixed. Sandbox mode New sandbox map has been released! You can select the starting difficulty and modifier for this mode. You can pick which enemies and how many to fight per wave. You can choose the enemy pathing before starting the level. Cost to play the map will range from 200 to 800 points. This mode is intended for late game players. Currently, this mode will be available immediately after the tutorial, but will be subject to change. Basic tower Starting at level 2, the basic tower will fan additional arrows to the side with 1/6th of the main arrow’s damage. Level 2 will have one fanning arrow, level 3 will have two fanning arrows, and etc. The maximum number of arrows will be at level 7, with three on each side of the main arrow. At level 8, the additional damage for further projectile travel still stay for the main arrow. Splash tower Radius of splash has been increased from the previous update. Starting at level 2, cannonballs will bounce if they hit an enemy. Each bounce will deal 75% damage of the previous and will have a 25% radius reduction. Level 2 can bounce twice, level 3 can bounce three times, and etc. At level 8, the radius of the splash will not drop off when bouncing. Fire tower The burning effect will now spread to a nearby enemy if the target dies with remaining burn times. Also, burn times have been increased significantly and will be based on level. Balancing changes may be done in future hotfixes or updates. Level 1 will have a burn time of 2 seconds. Level 4 will have a burn time of 3 seconds. Level 7 will have a burn time of 4 seconds. Update v0.6 Hotfix - Allow 100% Completion
https://koalasintraffic.github.io/spd/news/2023/07/16/update-06-hotfix/ I've decided to change the legacy achievement to be auto-completed by simply opening up the game! I've also renamed the achievement to reflect those changes, so all new players will be able to get 100% of the achievements now. I'm still working on tower changes, but it'll take me a bit of time due to being busy with my personal life. Stayed tuned in a month or so for a new major patch.Read full article on Community Announcements (Koalas in Traffic)
