About the Game

Terrytorial Disputes is currently on hold, I hope to come back to working on it soon. The game still works, it's still playable, but there will be bugs and some balance issues. -Terry

Welcome Back Director, your Base has been waiting for you.

Endless stream of enemies

Prepare for a relentless onslaught of enemy attacks, with 12 different enemy categories (Fast, Heavy, Flying, Missile Launchers, etc.) and hundreds of waves to contend with, the challenge will be non-stop. When the enemies start coming, they won't stop until you are dead. You'll need to stay alert and adjust your tactics to match the changing enemy units and strategies.

Explore a massive Tech Tree

Research through over 250 Technologies that can upgrade almost every aspect of your base. Upgrade Turret's damage, Refinery's speed, or your Power Plant's power output. Gain EXP to purchase new technologies for your base. Spend the EXP after defeating a King's Champion, or after you are defeated. Each game will allow you to progress farther into the tech tree, can you survive long enough to explore them all?

Collect Resources

Capturing gem fields is essential to funding your operation! Managing your economy versus your defenses will be a constant balancing act, as your gem collection needs to be balanced with your gem capacity. To ensure you have a steady stream of income, build silos to allow a larger stockpile of money and plan your resource management carefully.

Expand your base

Terrain expansion plays a crucial role in your overall strategy. As you progress through the game, you'll have the opportunity to expand your base’s footprint by generating additional chunks of the map. This allows you to gather more resources and generate income, but it also enables you to construct additional towers and structures to better protect your territory. The larger your base, the more formidable your defenses can become.

Meaty Arsenal

Choose from over 65 different towers and structures to build up your defenses. From traditional machine gun turrets to advanced missile launchers, each tower has unique strengths and weaknesses. But be careful - the enemy will also have units to counter your strategies, so you'll need to constantly adapt and evolve your arsenal to stay ahead of the game.

Stay on the leading edge

Staying ahead of the curve is key to victory. With over 150 different technology upgrades to research, you'll need to carefully consider which upgrades to invest in to best counter your enemy's tactics. Each round you gain EXP, which you can use to unlock new technology for you to research in your next game. But beware: your enemies won't wait for you to catch up, and they'll constantly be adapting and evolving their strategy to keep you on your toes. Only by staying on the leading edge of technology and tactics can you hope to emerge victorious!

The enemy fights back

The enemy won't just stand idly by while you destroy their units. They'll fight back with their own diverse arsenal of cannons and missiles, making each wave of attacks increasingly challenging. With enemies getting stronger and more cunning as the game progresses, you'll need to stay on your toes and keep refining your defensive strategies to survive.

Fight against mighty champions

Champions are unique units designed to wreak havoc on your base and bring you to your knees. These mighty foes boast powerful attacks, exceptional speed, and devastating abilities, and they require precise strategy and tactics to defeat. As you progress through the game, you'll encounter a variety of different champions, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Will you be able to overcome their challenge and defend your base against their onslaught?

Keep your base powered

The real life blood of your base, Energy. Keep an eye on your energy usage or you might find your turrets stop working. They won't be efficient at the start, but as you research upgrades for the power plants you'll find their presence in your base more manageable.

Calibrating Airspeed

Prepare to defend against land and air assaults; Air Superiority is vital if you are to defend your base. Air foes are fast and deliver effective attacks on your HQ.

Efficiently use your space

Support your buildings with boosters. Boosters help players get the most value out each node under their control. Different boosters have different effects depending on structure or turret they are placed next to. Refinery Boosters help give Gem Refineries a speed boost, so you get your money more frequently.

Construction In Progress

Terrytorial Disputes is still under construction, performance issues, balance problems, and bugs are a possibility. There isn't a bug I haven't been able to fix so far, and there isn't a feature I've wanted to add, but I haven't been able to program. Everyday I'm learning more and getting better at programming, balancing, everything. I'm committed to making this the best Terry-Type game, and an incredible Tower Defense game.

Development of Terrytorial Disputes on hold.

TLDR; I failed the community, I failed the game, and I failed myself. I shut down and ran. I sincerely apologize. TD’s Development will be paused for a while. I’m sorry. My absence has been due to my debilitating depression & anxiety. I shut down completely. I was afraid to leave my own house. I was afraid to talk to friends and people I knew. I was afraid to face the criticisms over my inactions and broken promises. I did not deliver on the promises made around Terrytorial Disputes. TD started as a side hobby project to master coding; When I got laid off I decided to commit 100% to it. I had a little bit of money saved up, so I took the risk. I’ve been designing games, maps, and scripts for close to two decades. This was my first time making something of this scope & complexity. I bit off more than I could chew. Technical debt from the old code was built up making bug fixes nightmarish; decisions made years ago prevented changes I want to make. I did not plan nor organize myself as much as is required for a project of this scale. Combine that with the additional effort of all the marketing, community, cold emailing youtubers all day. It’s more than I could do. I ended up losing money on the game through my own mis-investments on assets, advertising, and some freelance work. I feel guilty about saying that I was going to do something, and then not doing it. It was wrong, a mistake, and I want to be clear that it’s my fault. I recognize I am part of the problem of Early Access Indie games that end of abandoned, I am one of the cogs that made Steam create a special disclaimer. I’ve taken this failure so seriously because everything in TD is a projection of Terry, who I am, what I like, my creativity, my taste, me. So, I feel like I’ve been a failure. I still want to continue to make games, making TD is probably the most fun I’ve had on a creative project. I hate that I only see TD as a failure. I want to give myself the freedom to acknowledge the +2 years of effort an...

    Steam Deck Verified!

Shareholders! Terrytorial Disputes is now Verified on the Steam Deck! Gabe Newell has personally tested my game on the Steam Deck, and graced Terrytorial Disputes with Verification! (joke) One of my goals for Terrytorial Disputes is to make it a fantastic bed-time gaming Tower Defense game, This verification is a huge step towards that. There is an official config for the Steam Deck that has most features of the game bound to the controller's inputs. RECOMMENDED: - Disabled Edge Camera Panning - Switch to 2 Column sidebar - Use the left track-pad Radial Menu for quick Structure Category Selection If you have feedback or thoughts about how to make the Steam Deck version of TD better, feel free to discuss in the Steam Community or join the Discord! Dividends soon, Terry - Terry @ Terryble Interactive

Steam Awards "Best On Steam Deck" Nominee?!

Shareholders, I'm excited to share that Gabe N. at Valve Software has personally and individually nominated Terrytorial Disputes for the "Best on Steam Deck" Award (joke). While we are not currently Steam Deck Verified, I believe we will be very soon. I want Terrytorial Disputes to be a full featured Tower Defense that I can play in bed on my Steam Deck. Of course I don't expect us to win anything, yet. We will manifest a Steam Award in the future by working towards it now! Please vote Expand & Exterminate: Terrytorial Disputes - Endless Base Defense for the "Best On Steam Deck" Award! Originally he had suggested that we aim for GOTY, but it only lets me pick one. Additionally, it would've been unfair to other games on Steam if we won GOTY right out the box. Motivated To be Nominated, -Terry

Autumn Sale + Update V2.75: New Cutscenes, Purchase Tech In-Game.

*This update is to the Default Branch, changes should be playable by all users at time of this post* Gamers & Shareholders! Autumn Sale is upon us, and I wanted to use this opportunity to release a new update along with the sale. If you're new to TD or a returning player, Welcome back General. I'm excited for this update, the largest change is the ability to purchase Technologies after defeating one of the King's Champion enemies that are every 25 rounds. I genuinely feel like this update is another step forward towards refining the game play elements and formulas. I'm aiming for monthly update, but I believe the amount of content in this update will make up for the delay. I tried to grab significant changes to put in the change log, but I'm also not the best at writing down every change I make. A notable amount of time was also dedicated to making the experience on the Steam Deck even better. I recognize that the menu's weren't as controller friendly as they should be. Overall a lot of work on buttons, UI, menus that I believe will make the Steam Deck experience better. There has also been a lot of work done these past two months on learning Blender, rigging vehicles, and just transferring assets; This will help by allowing me to make cut-scenes faster, ideally this will be work that I can pass on to animators in the future to make even more cut-scenes. I want to thank LeckMich & KrayZee Toucan from the Discord for bug finding. I want to thank all others that have also helped by leaving comments on Discord or in the Steam Discussions Dividends soon Shareholders, Terry Added: Purchase Technology after defeating King's Champion enemies, 4 new KC's at Round 25, 75, 125, & 175 I redrew the coasts & roads to be more in line with the art style I'm going for. 3 NEW cut-scenes, fresh out of blender, still experimenting with them. New Intro video, it's implementation in-game is still a WIP. Fixed Re-balance of most of Tech 2 and 3, Cost & Power numbers aligned better. Rewro...

Dev Log & Update V2.21: New Enemies, Balance Changes, and Bugfixes!

This update is to the Default Branch & Demo, changes should be playable by all users at time of this post Shareholders! I have pushed all of the changes and improvements from experimental to default, and additional hotfixes. I appreciate your patience as I figure out the exact balance of this game, I believe each update we are getting closer to a great balance baseline. I do recognize that as I add new units and status effects, they might take a couple of updates to perfectly find their home. Management Terry has paid McClancy & Company over $12 Million to consult us on improvements for the game. Upon much research the consultants reached the same conclusion that one of our low level programming Terries already knew; The Map generator is holding us back. Below is a cool dev diary showing off what I'm doing with the new map generator, and why I believe it's a foundational step into tower defense perfection: As always I'd love to hear your feedback! Terry -CEO, Terry, Possibly a corporation Changes Since Last Update To Default Added: New Paradox Rift effects, it's all GPU shader stuff so it shouldn't be noticeable on performance. Stealth Enemies! 2 New Stealth Units. Guard Tower: reveals stealth units, and additional technologies added to towers to allow them to target stealth units. "Silos Needed" audio check will trigger every 15 seconds, it'll do this 3 times. It won't restart until silo capacity has dropped below 75%. Small Text on the first Tech Research slot to remind players to construct a tech uplink. Custom Death Gibs: I want to capture the General's technical exploding when units die style. I want a corpse of the vehicle to fly up, explosion, gibs, the whole style. I've been working on adding some to the earlier vehicles. (Like always this was 100x harder than initially imagined) Status Effects are now label on Champion's Health Bar, they can be hovered over with the mouse to reveal the description! Champion's Name can now be pulled from your Steam Friends L...
