Paper Lily News and Rich Flavors
Hi everyone! It's been a while since we've given a detailed update and many of you have been waiting for a devlog, so let's get down to business! You can read the full devlog over on Itch.io, but we'll summarize the important points below! First, Paper Lily's development. In terms of development progress: it's still advancing, but lately it's been really slow. There are months in which we work pretty intensely and months in which we don't have time to get any progress done at all, which is a pretty inconsistent workflow. In general we prefer not to give away much, but we can share a few details about Chapter 2:Ch2 will have 1 large location composed of 15+ scenes, 2 smaller areas (one of which is the lighthouse) + the black pass and other doorknob locations. Several of these still need to be sprited and have their puzzles designed.Depending on your actions in Ch1, up to 4 characters from the forest area might be back in Ch2.Sai's gonna have kind of a bad time in chapter 2.We're looking into making "Little Kat's" shop a bigger part of the game: Our hope is that you'll be able to buy some extra items with coins that can help you in certain quests or can alter the storyline in little ways.Hiro will take on a slightly bigger role!Regarding the Release We realize it's been a long time, and in our last update we said we were considering a chapter by chapter release. This means it's about time for Chapter 2 to be out, right? Well... not quite. We're still not quite fond of the chapter-by-chapter release idea for Paper Lily, so IF we keep it, they might all be released very close to each other (we're talking a few months apart at most). We have two main reasons for this. First, the game is heavily intertwined and we do a lot of back and forth between chapters when making it. Second, you guys theorize about the story... A LOT. We suspect that with enough time and detailed analysis of chapter 2 and its secrets, some people could come close to figuring out many future story de...Read full article on Community Announcements (leef6010)Patch NotesOfficial
Version 1.1.6
Hi everyone! This is a small patch focused on translations, as most of our efforts are now focused on Chapter 2 and Godot 4. Changelog Fixed an issue with different translations for the same word colliding (e.g. "Rune" (Item) and "Rune" (Character)). Various translation updates/fixes. With this release, we've also added 2 new languages: Polish - by Wrony Team Ukrainian - by banan_ivanRead full article on Community Announcements (leef6010)Patch NotesOfficial
Version 1.1.5 - Progress and Popularity poll
Hi everyone, small new update! Translations As of this release, the available translations are: Japanese - by Sasazaki Simplified Chinese - by Ximra Traditional Chinese - by nh60211as Russian - by DEsut Bulgarian - by ObstructiveDdoings7 Portuguese (Brazil) - by Mirai Translations Vietnamese - by Meigyoku Thmn We also updated the supporter pack to add Japanese and an image from Tamaghost Jump! Once again, thank you to all the translators who are helping make the game accessible to so many more people around the world! More translations are on their way as well. Changelog Revised the conditions that trigger a small cutscene with Aoi. Fixed a minor issue with the first crow save. Fixed a minor graphical glitch when feeding your TamaGhost™. Fixed an issue that could get the player stuck when looking at the large tree for the first time. Fixed a dialogue line that wouldn't play during a conversation with Rune. Fixed some dialogue with Sai about burnt fuses. Fixed some missing periods and grammatical errors. Progress Update Chapter 2 has been advancing at a very slow pace... (we needed to give some time to irl responsibilites)! We don't want to reveal anything just yet, but we're really excited to work on this chapter. Let's just say it'll be more "chaotic" than Chapter 1, due to a new character being introduced. As for the game as a whole, we're currently trying to find the best way to slice the game down to more workable pieces, so that development goes smoother than it went for Chapter 1 (and we get the game in your hands in a reasonable time). As some of you might have noticed at the end of Chapter 1, the last save file has Sai's sprite on it. This means you'll be able to play as him occasionally (as well as possibly other characters throughout the game)! Going forward, it will help to get a few different perspectives. Regarding the more technical side, we're also progressing on porting the engine to Godot 4. It's... quite a massive task. After fixing over 2000 compi...Read full article on Community Announcements (leef6010)Patch NotesOfficial

Version 1.1.3
Hi everyone! This is a pretty big patch, hopefully the last one for a while! Once again, thank you to all who emailed us bug reports! Changelog The game will now do its best to gracefully recover after a dead end or crash, to prevent losing too much progress. Added a setting to control whether the "Skip" option shows up when dying (it no longer depends on death count). Renamed "Skip Dialogue" setting to "Hold to Fast Forward". Player is now prevented from picking up jar or lamp if they already took the other one. Fishing is now a little faster. Added the ability to leave a flower at the grave. Added the ability to skip the painting chase sequence. Added a few more item hints to Spider. Fixed menu disabled during Ending 4 (not that it will help you). Fixed an issue that could prevent Kett from waking up when he should. Fixed phone battery draining when only using it for a bit. Fixed camera getting offset when you entered bushes in the Locked Site. Fixed some corners where Mr. Locked Site couldn't reach you. You will never be safe again. Fixed purple petals not actually being purple. Fixed an issue where the moths would not react correctly to the lavender. Fixed a potential softlock with the facility primals. Fixed an inconsistency regarding the bucket solution. Fixed an incongruent dialogue triggering at the fuse panel. Fixed an issue that allowed the player to duplicate water jars. Fixed an issue where the player could backtrack during the Kett chase. Fixed an issue where Miss Knives would spawn twice. Fixed fires overlapping during boss fight. Fixed an issue where dying at the very last second of the boss fight caused strange behavior. Exterminated all in-game typos. Removed a bunch of useless data. Various other minor fixes. Time to get on with the translations!Read full article on Community Announcements (leef6010)
