We're delighted to announce that Cathexis has launched its first Public Preview Demo! This demo showcases a minimal example of the parkour puzzle gameplay loop that forms the core, moment-to-moment Cathexis experience. This demo release came after a lot of internal debate. On the one hand, we all want to release something polished and perfect. But if the perfect is the enemy of the good, and we wait months and months before giving YOU a chance to see the game, even in its very early state, we're missing a chance to gain vital feedback and prioritize future development with the help of your input. The Journey Begins!
It is my tremendous honor to start updating you about development progress on Cathexis, a first-person parkour puzzle game set in a world of mysterious pillars. Cathexis has been in concept and development for around four years, and has slowly grown from a vague idea to a playable Proof of Concept. Over the last six months, our team has scaled up to tackle full production, and I finally feel confident enough about the game and its prospects to begin to bring you along for the journey! So to set a few expectations first: Cathexis is nowhere near an Early Access release. There are major systems to implement, content to build, and feel to land. Our small and mighty team is hard at work, but we need your help to ensure we're tackling the highest value features and steering in the right direction.
