PC VR is now LIVE / Patch Notes

PATCH NOTESVersion number 1.0.20260513_0641_19_224059 SteamToday’s update marks the release of VR for Steam! We provided some tips & tricks on how to best experience the game in VR.Please note that mods are not officially supported in this game and that running them can contribute to crashes and gameplay features breaking. Play at your own risk when using mods. When troubleshooting, always check your mods first.Getting Started with VRTo kick-start you in your virtual reality experience, there’s a few things you need to know about the VR port of FNAF:SOTMThe VR port does not support room-scale play. Stay within your player boundary and use in-game locomotion controls to navigate. Leaving your boundary and physically walking around will cause interactions to fail.VR port includes settings specific to this mode. But there’s another setting you’ll need to adjust yourself outside the game.To adjust the in-game FPS for PC VR, Steam Link and Index users must change the "refresh rate (hz)" in SteamVR settings. Quest Link/Air Link users can adjust it via the Meta Horizon Link desktop app's "Graphics Preferences." Always consider your PC specs' limits when increasing the refresh rate.If you can’t reach 120/144 Hz in PC VR, try turning SteamVR’s “motion smoothing” setting off.Sometimes deleting the entire “configs” folder (i.e., C:\\Users\\%USERNAME%\\AppData\\Local\\FNAF_SOTM\\Saved\\Config) helps.ChangesMore haptic feedback have been implemented across the game, especially for Steam FlatLowered the default gamma for better spookinessAdded dynamic resolutionImproved Upgrade Station usability in VR by:Disabling the input blocks on the sides during the upgrade minigameRe-designed the orientation to horizontal layout designBug FixesGeneralFixed a VR specific issue where crouching during a minigame can reset Mr. Helpful. More updates on the Secret of the Mimic PC VR launch

Hey all! To continue our commitment to provide more communication to the community, we wanted to give an update on the Secret of the Mimic PC VR launch. Here’s the plan as of today, barring any pesky 1’s or 0’s acting up out of nowhere!PC VR is currently planned for the middle of next week. We’re finalizing a patch for a pesky issue related to SteamVR framerate overrides, and our QA team is currently confirming the fix.For a little inside info: whenever we have a new build to test, our internal QA team has to run a full test sweep, which takes days. We don’t just test the things that were patched, we also make sure we didn’t accidentally introduce some new wonkiness elsewhere. For this title, testing is a little extra spicy because we functionally have two different versions of the game: Flat Mode and VR. That means QA has to test both independently.Once PC VR launches, we’re planning to release the PlayStation VR2 patch as soon as possible so we can maintain parity between both platforms. Thanks for the patience!

    VR Update

Hey all! We promised we would be better about communication moving forward and we want to live up to that. We have decided that we are going to hold back PCVR a LITTLE bit longer. Instead of launching it and then doing a quick turnaround patch (our original plan), we are going to roll in the patch fixes and updates directly to the PCVR launch build. We are also going to incorporate fixes to some of the main issues we’re seeing in the current community playthroughs. Our goal is to launch a higher quality PCVR edition and then patch the PS VR2 version so there is complete parity between the two platforms. We are working hard with our porting partners at Devoted Studios with the goal of getting the PCVR launch and PS VR2 patch ready within the next 2 weeks! We know it's frustrating when it appears that we aren't communicating and that can come across as if we’re not paying attention. That cannot be farther from the truth. We take this community very seriously because the community is what makes everything we do worthwhile. While I wish we could always be perfect, we do always strive to do better!
