A letter from the Devs
From the Falsepine Devs We wanted to give a heartfelt thank you to all the players who gave our game a shot and tried it out. We created this as a part of our Game Design Course at University, we certainly didn't expect this sort of response from you guys. Although it's been over a year since any announcement, due to a couple of posts we thought we would release this update to let you know that we have stopped development on Falsepine indefinitely. We originally planned to expand, polish, and refine Falsepine. Since then we all got jobs in this incredible industry, in part because of our work on Falsepine, but as time marched on we all found ourselves busy with work and our private lives. However, who knows what the future holds and we are open to the idea of working together again, next time we'd be armed with experience and knowledge to make the game we dreamed about when studying together. Because of this, we have decided to make the game free to everyone, we hope it inspires some of you out there to take that step into the gaming industry and if you have the passion and drive to give game development a shot there's no downside in trying. Thank you all for playing our little student project. - Voyager SoftworksRead full article on Community Announcements (Døves)Patch NotesOfficial

Falsepine 1.2 Update
Hello Hunters, we are pleased to announce an update for Falsepine. After taking a short break after graduating from university, we were keen to get to work adding in features most requested by the community! Controller Support By far, the most requested feature was controller support, and we are pleased to announce that Falsepine now supports both Xbox and PlayStation controllers! We ended up having to build a lot of our Falsepines controls from the ground up to support controllers, which took some time to test functionality thoroughly. Settings Another feature was display, FPS settings and graphical settings, and we are pleased to say you can now change Falsepines display mode, cap FPS and lower graphics if you are having performance issues. Quality of Life After playing more of the game ourselves and receiving feedback from the community, we have made quite a few tweaks and changes to the gameplay to try to strike a balance, allowing players to learn the game's intricacies before presenting them with a challenge. Reducing the difficulty in the starting areas allows for a more forgiving experience. We have also added signposts that can be found at the end of each room while playing. These will allow the Hunter to return to town with all the silver, quests and knowledge found without the risk of death. To explain the mechanic, a new tutorial segment has been added. Another area we have looked at was our UI to explain damage types better. Hunters can now see a weapons damage type, whether it's poison, silver or something different. Hopefully, helping players make the right decision when selecting a talisman boon. Players can now see their exact health percentage, showing how much damage enemies deal, along with the effectiveness of healing items or boons. Many small tweaks are also present, such as aim zones for throwables, more balanced silver retention on death, no more randomized stores and a few new props that didn't make it in at launch! Thank You! And finally, ...Read full article on Community Announcements (Døves)AnnouncementsOfficial
Falsepine Post Launch Updates
Hey there Hunters! It's been amazing seeing the reaction to the release of our first-ever game and receiving lots of positive and constructive feedback. With the release of Falsepine behind us, we now look to the future of our game. Upcoming Patch 1 Our first major patch will focus on the most requested features, the main one behind Controller Support! We have already begun working on adding this feature to our game and hope to share news of the update soon. We have also been busy adding additional settings to our game. Display settings will allow you to run the game in both windowed and fullscreen modes. And additional sound settings will let you turn down those pesky gunshots! With these two major points being worked on, we also began balancing certain aspects of the game to make the experience more enjoyable for all players. A more responsive UI, along with changes to the bank, ammo and enemies ( to name a few ), will make the game more entertaining and accessible to new players. We hope to share news of the date for our first update in the close future! Heartfelt Thank you We want to give a massive thanks to all the players trying out our game for the first time. We never expected our game to gain this much traction, and seeing content creators and players alike talk about our game fills us with drive and passion to keep working and making this game the best it can possibly be. And lastly, stick around hunters for new beasts may yet stir in the world of Falsepine! - VoyagerSoftworksRead full article on Community Announcements (Døves)
