About this game
The Last Werewolf is a distinctive narrative experience that invites you to join Lachie on her quest to understand her newfound identity. Drop straight into an active case, In Media Res style, of one of her paranormal investigations. Piece together Lachie's story through dialogue, a lore book, a diary, and an online blog.
A Story About Balance
The Last Werewolf uses supernatural elements to explore themes of identity and self-discovery. Through Lachie's journey of learning to live with her werewolf nature, the game presents a thoughtful metaphor for managing mental health, particularly Bipolar Disorder. The Wolf Meter mechanic reflects the daily balance of understanding your limits while still embracing life's experiences.

What to Expect
A Playable Short Story: A simple, intimate narrative experience designed to be experienced in a single sitting.
Atmospheric World-Building: A cozy, relaxing focus on supernatural lore, community, and world-building, opting for an In Media Res in place of a complex plot.
Light Choice & Cinematic Beats: Navigate dialogue and small cutscene moments smoothly without convoluted, stressful plot branching.
Lachie's Personal Tools: Casually catch up on who she is at your own pace by reading through her diary, lore book, and blog

Chapter Three gets a boost!
Hellooo! Here is the QoL update. Chapter Three has received some new content to help flesh things out a little. I have also addressed some bugs and minor issues. For those unaware, I have now closed the Discord channel. I have found that there is such an excess of Discord channels out there that it was not an optimal way to reach out to the community. I will now focus on updating everyone via the Steam Community Hub and via a free newsletter through Patreon. Twitch streaming for the development of Silver Lake National Park will happen soon. I'll announce via the newsletter when this starts up. But for now, you can follow the studio on Twitch and get the alert when I go live.A quick note: I was originally calling this a Major Update; however, I think 'Major' might have been a bit misleading to some people, as it was mostly world-building rather than major mechanics/gameplay changes. So I have renamed it to a Minor Update. I have also restructured how I'm doing version numbers. They will now be: (major).(minor).(patch).(hotfix).Chapter Three AdditionsCave New ContentIntroduces a new character, Oliver.Day 2: New conversation with Harper and Oliver.Campsite Day New ContentReplaced the old diner with a brand-new one that you can walk into. I was going to have a new scene for this, but felt it looked so much nicer in the space.Introduced a new character: Oakley, who runs the diner. You can have conversations and collect snacks and water.Day 2: Conversation with Jack outside of the cave + added a supply locker for world-building; in preparation for Silver Lake National Park game.Day 3: New eavesdrop in the diner with Harper and Oliver.Added a hawk flying in the sky. You might not be able to see it, but if you do, please take a screenshot.UIItems collected: Snacks and water from OakleyFixes & TweaksReported collider issues Chapter Two Clinic: Colliders for the doctor and the plantChapter Three Camp Day: Collider for the truck.Chapter Three Ranger Station: Wall collider.Chapte...Read full article on Community Announcements (Unnatural Freaks Studio)AnnouncementsOfficial
World Bipolar Day
Hello! It's 30th March 2026, and that means it's World Bipolar Day. Today is about raising awareness about the condition to help reduce stigma. The date was chosen to coincide with Vincent van Gogh’s birthday, a historical figure believed to have lived with the disorder. From historical figures to modern icons like Stephen Fry, many people live full, successful lives with this diagnosis. Because symptoms vary so much between individuals, you often can't "tell" someone has it just by looking at them. This is why education is so vital. If you’d like to learn more or find support, these are fantastic resources:Sane AustraliaBlack Dog InstituteTo mark the occasion and encourage more people to jump into the story, The Last Werewolf is 60% off for the next couple of days.QOL Update: The Last Werewolf. Just a quick update on the progress of the next update for The Last Werewolf. There is a delay due to some work/life balance issues, which I'm hoping will settle soon. This update will address reported bugs and some additional content. In Development: Silver Lake National ParkI know what you’re thinking: "How is there a new game coming if the update is delayed?" The good news is that the core systems for Silver Lake National Park are already established. Most of the remaining work is simply importing assets into the engine. For now, I’m happy to share these early concept sketches from Skye for our character dialogue profiles:Read full article on Community Announcements (Unnatural Freaks Studio)Patch NotesOfficial

It will be set in the same universe as The Last Werewolf, though this time we'll be following Ranger Logan as he navigates working at the national park, meeting visitors, and maybe even finding friendships... or something more. Peppered in will be flashbacks of his origin story so we can see how far he's come.I'm still in the early stages of development: designing characters, building the world, testing different aesthetics.
