About this game
Gameplay:
The Search for a Colour Palette (TSFACP) has 7 levels in total, each ending with a boss at the end. Inspired by the classic Castlevania games from the 80's, you have to fight your way through monsters, unknown creatures, and beasts in order to get to your final destination: the castle.
At your disposal you have a boomerang that you can throw and also hover in the air with, knives you can pick up throughout the levels and throw at enemies for additional damage, and a holy shield with which you can block damage and jump on top of enemies. You also gain experience from killing enemies, making you even stronger...be careful not to kill too many though. Use all of these tools to your advantage, because there are some platforming challenges to be had in your adventure!

Update 1.0.2
Hello there, I just released version 1.0.2. This is just a small thing I decided to do because I was bored and I wanted to fix these two things that peeved me a little bit. XP Patchnotes: - XP max multiplier has been decreased even more since last time and is now 2.1. - XP max now has an upper limit, the 32-bit integer limit. (it was virtually impossible to reach this limit to begin with, but this is just to be sure.) - Fixed very minor visual bug with the trail behind the knives you throw. Now all the knives will have trails, not just the most recent knife that was thrown. - Fixed a literal pixel offset in the trail that you leave behind when doing the boomerang hover while you have the ultimate boomerang. If you veered to the left the trail would be offset by a pixel, that is now fixed. Yes this was basically a non-issue to begin with. And yeah that's basically it, there really isn't more to it than that. The only real reason I added an upper bound to the max-level is just in case anything would break in the game after reaching this limit. Also as I said, there was basically a 0% of anyone ever getting to that point legitimately to begin with, so I guess this was another non-issue. XP Please do say if you find more issues you want me to say, would be appreciated! - SeventyFour ProductionsRead full article on Community Announcements (SeventyFour74)Patch NotesOfficial
Update 1.0.1 is out!
I just released update 1.0.1, and with it the game is a bit easier as well. :) Patchnotes: - Made XP bar overflow (if you got 60 XP from an enemy but only had 30 XP left to a new level, you will now get the 30 XP overflowed to the next level.) - Made the XP requirement for the next level increment by 2.5, instead of 3. - Optimized the first screen of level 1. - Added a "skip cutscene" button to the very beginning of the game. And that's it, I just wanted to finally change the XP system due to a conversation I had with Bro. Three (the guy that worked on the music for this game.) that the leveling system felt very "fake". Even if you grinded your levels to the max you typically would still usually be at the same spot a person that didn't grind for that long would be at. I've also gotten a lot of feedback on the fact that this game is a bit too difficult, so fixing the XP system hopefully fixes a lot of those difficulty issues as well. I truly hope you find the game fun to play! :) If you have more feedback you want to give to me, please feel free to comment it on this page or on the reviews for this game or send Nithriotto Games an email or something, you can contact us here: https://nithriottogames.com/contact And of course, same can be said for any bugs you might spot, please feel free to give me a notice about it. :) - SeventyFour ProductionsRead full article on Community Announcements (SeventyFour74)AnnouncementsOfficial

Where is TSFACP at the moment?
Hello there! Just wanted to give you all an update since I do realize that it has been quite a long while since the last one. I did say that the last one was gonna be my last devlog but since it has been this long I decided that it's better to just give an update. :) So right off the bat, the game is doing very well! I am actually in the bugtesting phase of the game as of this moment. It's not actually that far off from release. My estimate would be somewhere between a month or two months. Do remember though that my estimates have never been correct before so maybe they're not correct this time either. That is the thing though, since the game is in the bugtesting phase then it means that I know that it won't be too long until the game feels like a finished product. Heck it already kinda does! I am finished with all the endings, the extras menus, the boss. I've even returned to some of the very buggy bosses I created before and fixed a lot of them. I seem to have gotten a lot better at game development than I was when I first created this bosses since by just rewriting the code a bit I was able to make everything work easy peasy! So now the question is, what's remaining? Well, I got a whole list of things that I have written down (either bugs or just features that I want to add) that I am going to work on. Having this bulletpoint list allows me to work extremely efficiently actually. I do recommend a bulletpoint list if you're struggling with finding things to do in your game (or just life in general) because it makes sorting through tasks and checking them off that much better. The list is about a page long at this point, so yes, it's a damn big list. But I am pummeling through it and checking off the boxes as I go (which is very satisfying by the way). In the current pase I am in I am assuming I'm finished in a month. Anyways, the people I have bugtesting the game have gotten the game, I am obviously playing the game constantly to the point where I am getting kinda...Read full article on Community Announcements (SeventyFour74)AnnouncementsOfficial
Nearing the end!
Hello, I'm back with yet another devlog! As you can see from the title it's nearing the end....of devlogs. Basically, I am almost finished with stage 7 of the game, which means that after this it's only cutscenes and tons of bug-testing left. This will take a few months though so beware of that. Basically, the game is still not that close to completion, but the main storyline and the base game is actually almost finished. The second boss in stage 7 is easy to create (and yes, I actually mean that for once, it's very easy to create) and the last boss is most likely the thing that's gonna take the longest time, but I don't wanna make devlogs about that since that would be major spoilers. :P By the way, I have thought of and discussed the prospect of making this game cost 2 dollars instead of 1. This game has taken like 4 years to make at this point and after properly assessing the contents of the game I feel like that's a better price point. Then again it's still up for debate and I 100% do not want people to feel like I scammed them for their money. I do want to make a good game after all believe it or not! Some more news focused more on the cover art of the game: I still am not very satisfied with how it looks since I ended up basically just using assets from the game itself. So another cover art is being made! The finalized design and the cover art itself is still being discussed so I won't share more details than that. :) Also, another thing (yeah I don't actually have a lot to say about the game at this point since it's nearly finished), I'll add some mini-cutscenes in between levels. I am also gonna add some more subsections to many of the already existing levels since I do want the game to be a little longer than it already is. I have also actually tested the game as it is right now, it takes about an hour to 2 hours to complete as it is. So I'm quite satisfied with that! :) That was all for now! I can't wait for this game to get released! :D -SeventyFour Produ...Read full article on Community Announcements (SeventyFour Productions)
