About the Game

The Colorful Creature is difficult platformer with puzzle color mechanics.

Play over 350 levels with diverse gameplay that have various items, blocks and hazards, one of the items change gravity and player speed, give you an ability to jump higher, teleport from one place to the other and etc!



The Level Editor let's you build levels and it has over 110 placeable blocks and items! Other main features in the level editor are saving/loading multiple levels, enabling fog, changing music, applying narrator text, and play/build mode. There are litetally millions of different level combinations and hours of fun! Finally, you can also put your levels on the Steam Workshop!



Local Multiplayer can be played with 2, 3 or 4 players! All of the players can customize their look with unlocked skins and hats, and can change controls with 4 presets. Local Multiplayer currently offers two gamemodes, Survival and Race, but we plan adding more, all gamemodes are compatible with all players.



If you want to play through the endless queue of hand-crafted levels, try this gamemode! Three gamemodes are available for Endless Run, those gamemodes are Normal, Old School and Custom Endless Run.



You can customize your character with skins and hats. Skins are obtained by doing various tasks and most hats are obtained at the hat merchant shop!



The Colorful Creature has been open sourced, making it easier than ever to modify code and improve the game further! Consider helping by going to TheColorfulCreature repo on GitHub!



This game has a lot more features than that! We are hoping to add more and you to enjoy our game!

I was thinking for April to push a huge update to change that. What's a better way to update a game than to introduce multiplayer?No, not that kind of multiplayer, I meant REAL ONLINE MULTIPLAYER. Just right click on someone in your friends list and just press 'Join game' while they are playing!Features and bugfixes:Online Multiplayer, right click on your steam friend in your friends list to join their game! Or just hop in a game and have friends join you! You may have as many players join the lobby as you want!   Updated the engine to GM2024.14Note: In the update I noticed the game receiving huge changes in game size, not sure what is going on there, probably the engine doing different compilation. This engine update is a few months apart from the previous engine update so I would appreciate if anyone has the time to test the game closely in case of a possible bug

  Windows 10 End of Life and my games

  Hi everyone, Infiland here, I'm writing this to let people know something.Asteroids ++ and The Colorful Creature will continue to support Windows 10, despite it’s deprecation today. I will announce when those games will be out of support, the major factor would be GameMaker suddenly abandoning this OS. Since The Colorful Creature is open source, you may still download old releases for their support, but note that online features won’t continue to be supported on old versions of the game and may not work As for Monophobia Echoes, the next game we are working on, it may ultimately depend on the release of the game, as it will likely take years to finish, but if Windows 10 by then is no longer a major windows version, then it may be deprecated. If you ask me, my recommendation is to jump ship to Linux if you don’t want to upgrade. Linux will always be supported by me as the Linux marketshare is increasing and is at all time high. This includes Steam Deck players.If you want to support indie development, consider purchasing a donation gift. Thanks.DONATE
