Follow Our Kickstarter!
Hey there! An important update here regarding the game's development and upcoming Kickstarter campaign. So as you may know, this game is being made by a solo developer (me!!!!!) with the help of many talented freelancers. The character art, models, music, and the anime cutscenes and animations have all been done by paid professionals who were willing to lend their talents for this project.I was able to pay for all the art needed for the demo with a mix of grants and personal funds but have hit the absolute limit of what I can afford to spend. The good news is that the demo is out there as a proof of concept for any curious players, it means I'm ready to start prepping for our upcoming Kickstarter campaign! With that said though, to have the funding needed to pay for the remaining art that's needed, we need to hit particular funding goals. And to do that, we need to have lots of momentum going into the launch. To help with that, I've had a "pre-campaign" page up that folks can follow for a notification when the Kickstarter launches, and I'm using the follower count there to gauge if there's enough support to be able to launch the campaign. So what this means is, if you are interested in potentially backing a HeartLinks Kickstart campaign to help get raise funding for the game's development, it would be super helpful if you could follow the campaign page by signing up for a notification here! While I can program and make levels all day, HeartLinks truly wouldn't be what is without its characters, artwork, animation, or any of the soul that's been breathed into it by all the wonderful people who made contributions both big and small. I want more than anything to continue working with those folks to bring this project to life, and I know you'll want to see what the finished work made by all those hands together will look like too! (Trust me, you don't want a version where I try to voice every character and just use stick figures for the missing sprites 😭)So tl:dr, it woul...Read full article on Community Announcements (Boat Shoes)AnnouncementsOfficial
Thank you MAGFest 2026!
We brought the HeartLinks demo to MAGFest 2026, and it was such a blast! Getting to see so many positive in person reactions to the demo, its characters, and its gameplay filled me with motivation that goes beyond words. Getting to watch folks play in person has also let me note down a bunch of points to improve both for some upcoming demo patches as well as for the full game's release. Just want to give a huge thanks to anyone who was the event and took the time to stop by the booth, try the demo, or even just chat for a bit to get more info about the game. You can take my word that you've all done wonders for this project's development :)Looking ahead, the next big milestone is to launch the game's Kickstarter. More info on that soon, but if you happen to be reading this and are interested in potentially backing the campaign, it would be super helpful to follow the campaign page here to be notified when it launches. Having an idea of how many folks are interested in backing is very important when it comes to finalizing the plans for the campaign, so pre-following from now is greatly appreciated! Thanks again, and I hope you have a great day!Read full article on Community Announcements (Boat Shoes)AnnouncementsOfficial

DokiToki is Now HeartLinks!
Hey everyone!Posting a quick update to let you know the game previously known as "DokiToki: Time Slows Down When You're in Love" has been officially renamed to "HeartLinks: A Puzzle Called Love"!It's still the same game it's always been, a first-person puzzle adventure centered around finding love, but with many folks getting the wrong idea on what type of game this would be from the old name, I felt it was time for a change. While the beautiful pun that was "DokiToki" will always hold a very special place in my heart, I'm ready to fully embrace the game's new identity as HeartLinks, which I think much better captures the game's central ideas and gameplay.Hope you're looking forward to more exciting announcements coming very soon!Read full article on Community Announcements (Boat Shoes)
