    B.I.O.T.A.: A New Jump

Hey everyone! Today's patch brings only one change, however, we have a feeling it will be a deal-breaker feature! Since Jumping is one of the core mechanics in platformer games, we've dedicated last few patches to this specific mechanic. This time, we're completely revamping the way normal jump works. Previously, when jumping from the floor the characters always jumped to the same height, no matter how long the player was pressing the JUMP button. Now, we're going full platformer style. The jump's strength, or height rather, depends on how long the player keeps the button down. This translates to more controllable and precise jumps. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40648069/506973ff62302816d75f5793a7c851f7ede2eee3.gif Make sure to let us know about this feature! As always, if you like our game, please leave a review, and let us know what you think on the Steam forums or our official Discord server! See you in the next one! small bros. and Retrovibe

The Wall, The Jump and The Shot

Hey everyone! Today we have a rather light patch featuring two quality-of-life changes. Firstly, you are now able to shoot whlie being attached to a wall during any phase of the wall-sticking (fixed position, slide, wal jump etc,! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40648069/73731b3f9c189c3091caab21d1c518d02c30bdcc.gif Secondly, you are now able to stick to the wall both when jumping and when falling. In previous versions the character could stick to the wall only during active phase of jumping. The only situation when the wall sticking is bypassed is when the player presses “DOWN” command to detach from wall, and when character slide off the wall (having the same effect as manual detachment) As always, if you like our game, please leave a review, and let us know what you think on the Steam forums or our official Discord server! Verified Walljumpers

Hey everyone! We’ve got some exciting news for you! First of all, B.I.O.T.A. has been officially VERIFIED for the Steam Deck! It runs great, so if you own a Deck, make sure to try it out! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40648069/83743d0e2891b2bc79aefa90ad50024c37398d59.png Let’s now move onto the game’s update. And it is something we’ve been hearing from the players since launch. More specifically - wall jumping. Some users experienced difficulties in wall jumping to the right and left and often the character fell off the wall before being able to jump, the command to detach the character from the wall has been changed: now to get off the walls the control is a more intuitive and safe "down" and no more "left/right" {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40648069/1d1d44a1cc1cce6d20fff210e3c919360b936927.png New billboards have been added in the prologue stage, to introduce this new feature. Also by popular demand the audio glitch of the first cutscene has been fixed and the decibels at that point are now in line with the rest of the game's volume. As always, if you like our game, please leave a review, and let us know what you think on the Steam forums or our official Discord server! Oh, and one more thing... We've prepared fresh bundles for you to check out! https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/30527/Riftbreaker_x_BIOTA/ https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/30056/Mining_Bundle/ https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/29657/BIOTA_x_Impaler/ See you in the next one! small bros. and Retrovibe

    Optimal optimization

Hey everyone! Welcome in 2023! We’re starting a new year with a performance update right off the bat. This update brings a brand new feature to B.I.O.T.A. - Performance Mode. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40648069/a3b580e443ffaab6da85ceefd278dcf3b33b5c1b.png Performance Mode makes it possible to run the game or increase performance even on old machines, low specs machines, or machines without a dedicated GPU. So if you've been experiencing input lag and/or fps drops, enable Performance Mode to increase the performance a lot. For techie guys, how does it work? In normal mode, the game draws the frames based on the final resolution. E.g. If you run the game in full screen and screen resolution is 1080p, so the system draws the frame at 1080p, this allows a more precise object positioning when objects coordinates aren't integer. In Performance Mode the canvas is drawn in native resolution, and then enlarged to screen/window resolution when the frame is already rendered, this system allows a considerable saving of computing power. In this mode objects are drawn always at integer coordinates giving the game a gritty, old(er) school look Another thing coming in this update is a fresh button in the menu, redirecting to our upcoming action roguelike, B.I.O.T.A. Swarm. Make sure to check it out! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40648069/42a0107b1ade37536530238f8d593d9e030529ef.png As always, if you like our game, please leave a review, and let us know what you think on the Steam forums or our official Discord server! Have a stellar 2023! small bros. and Retrovibe
