About this game

This title in the Radio Commander series expands the original concept, delivering an even more realistic command simulation set in the Pacific Theater of World War II. Gameplay focuses on building situational awareness through radio communications, analyzing incoming reports, and making strategic decisions under pressure.

PACIFIC CAMPAIGN

Operations unfold across the islands of the Pacific Ocean through a campaign composed of progressively more demanding missions. Each assignment requires the completion of specific objectives and careful management of available forces to advance through the conflict.

REAL ALTERNAIVE VERSIONS OF EVENTS

The mission set includes 10 distinct scenarios inspired by real historical battles as well as fictional operations presenting alternative outcomes of wartime events. This combination offers varied tactical challenges while maintaining a strong connection to the historical setting.

NEW UNITS

As the campaign progresses, additional unit types: marines, tanks, a destroyer, planes, and specialized infantry become available, expanding the range of tactical possibilities. Armored units enhance offensive capabilities during ground engagements, while naval assets such as destroyers provide long-range artillery support. Every deployment decision carries weight, as opposing forces are equipped with effective means of countering these assets.

A LOT OF WAYS TO GAIN AN ADVANTAGE

Reconnaissance, positioning, and operational planning are key to gaining the upper hand and reducing losses. Tactical maneuvers such as flanking engaged enemies, securing elevated terrain, and launching surprise attacks from forest cover enable the execution of efficient and adaptive battle strategies.

    Trasmission from the Pacific #6

Radio Commander Pacific '41 is a strategy game. In the game, you'll face a tough opponent with a variety of units. Each unit has its role on the battlefield.Japanese units during the Pacific War were characterized by an offensive mindset and immense determination stemming from indoctrination. These traits are reflected in the game, albeit in a somewhat simplified way.Nevertheless, the Japanese were a tough, motivated opponent, familiar with the realities of combat. You may encounter the following types of Japanese units in the game.InfantryInfantry is the primary Japanese forces and the most numerously represented in the game. They can attack, defend, and patrol. They are resilient on the march and tenacious in combat. Disengagement from combat with Japanese infantry may not be automatic. It should be expected that infantry will attempt to maintain fire contact as long as possible under the given circumstances. Infantry can counterattack, so objects considered occupied may become the arena of fight once again.Like any infantry in the world, they are better at fighting in fortifications, urban areas, or forests than in open terrain. The game will feature a Japanese infantry anti-tank specialization. Unit with this specialization is more effective against tanks. If an anti-tank weapon is detected, your units will notify in a report. Therefore, pay attention to the reports of units in the field. The Japanese infantry in the game has the ability to organize ambushes. This simulates the Japanese troops' better knowledge of the terrain and climate, for whom these conditions were more natural than for the US forces. An unit preparing the ambush carefully conceals itself and strikes when the opportune moment arises. It is very difficult to detect an ambush in advance. You might encounter infantry operating as paratroopers in the game. This reflects the fact that Japan didn't put much effort into developing parachute units before the war, and significant efforts didn't begin unti...

    Trasmission from the Pacific #5

In combat, you will be able to use support units and units with certain specializations, under your command.Infantry/Marines units have specializations. Specializations aid in combat, but they have consequences that impact the actions of the unit possessing that specialization.Specializations are indicated by small icons on the infantry or marines unit token.FLAMETHROWERA weapon that shoots a stream of ignited flames at the enemy. In the Pacific theater, the U.S. troops used flamethrowers to clear stubborn Japanese resistance from prepared defenses, caves, and trenches. Starting in New Guinea, through the closing stages of Guadalcanal and during the approach to and reconquest of the Philippines, and then throughout the Okinawa campaign. In the game, flamethrowers are useful against enemies hidden in fortifications, such as bunkers, trenches, and buildings.A unit with the flamethrower specialization moves slower than regular infantry because it must carry heavy flamethrowers. The weight of a fully loaded M2 blaster was just over 30 kg. The unit is also more vulnerable to fire and tires more quickly. This simulates the blaster's vulnerability to exploding at the slightest enemy shell impact. To maximize the flamethorwer effectiveness against a fortification, move the unit as close to it as possible.ANTI-TANKThe anti-tank specialization increases the unit's effectiveness against enemy tanks and vehicles. The anti-tank specialization does not necessarily mean equipping the unit with specific anti-tank guns.It simulates a general anti-tank equipment loadout and imposes consequences on the unit's other characteristics.A unit with the anti-tank specialization is better at fighting tanks than regular infantry or Marines. This does not mean that this fight is automatically won. It is capable of hitting the enemy at longer ranges than regular infantry. However, it moves slower due to its anti-tank loadout. For the same reason, it also tires more quickly than infantry.RECON UNITST...

Find the link here.Radio Commander '41 gameplay involves commanding in a way similar to that used by commanders during the Pacific War.It involves issuing orders via radio and receiving reports from units in the field. Based on these reports, the player, as commander, builds a mental picture of the situation and maps it onto the map.ORDERS AND REPORTS PANELS The orders panel is located at the bottom left of the screen. The reports panel is located at the bottom right of the screen. The orders panel is displayed using the SPACE key.Orders are issued by combining phrases using the keyboard. The order structure involves selecting options according to the WHO-DO-WHAT and sometimes WHERE pattern. i.e., Fisher 01-report-position or Fisher 03-Basic Orders-Move to - Grids....As a commander, you can always request a detailed report on several specific matters. The commander can call a unit to report:- position - information in the form of coordinates- unit status - unit reports: personnel alive/WIA/KIA; morale; fatigue; ammunition/fuel levels; operational activity- contacts (contacts with the enemy)- combat status (the unit's combat status)If you misunderstand the reports or forget update map, you will distort your picture of the situation and make poor decisions. To facilitate issuing orders in dynamic situations, you have the QUICK ORDER panel.
