    Notes From the Underground #007

There's always something new to discover in the underground and it looks like our wayward Explorer found the perfect test subject for their latest creation! 👀 A transcript of this journal entry has been provided below the image. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40710988/0a8ea422625cdf86d32509b48bf5ec93f06d02ae.jpg Notes From the Underground #7 - Yee-Haw! Every time I think I’m familiar with a certain corner of the underground, it surprises me. A growing, living world, lost to the ages. And who’d have thought that one of its darker, more ruin-filled corners would contain undiscovered patches of greenery? Truly remarkable. I must admit I was nervous when I encountered some of this area’s fauna, but they turned out to be a lot more placid than anticipated. I guess it’s true what they say. You can’t judge a book by its cover, and you can’t judge a creature by the sheer volume of its teeth. The creature warmed up to me so fast that I was able to test my latest creation on it! I was worried I'd need to make some adjustments to use it on bipeds, but I'm pleased to report that it fits just fine. I certainly feel like a real rancher now. Dare I say, yee-haw?

Core Keeper 2026 Roadmap: Road to the Maw!

Introducing “Road to the Maw” – our next 3 major content updates for Core Keeper! We’re so very excited to share our plans with you in more detail below, and you’ll find an overview in the roadmap image in this post (it’s also visible on our Steam store page!). What is the Road to the Maw? The Road to the Maw consists of 3 interconnected major content updates! Originally, we planned for this to be one single update that we would work on for a longer period of time – Core Keeper’s crowning glory – but as development began, we realised that building up to one release would mean that players would have to wait much longer before getting to experience any of it. Instead, we decided to split it into 3 major content updates to get the content into your hands faster. These 3 parts might not follow the exact same “new biome, new boss, new tool tiers” format as some of our previous major content updates, but we plan on pouring the same love and attention into them that we do with all our major content updates. Our goal with the first two parts of Road to the Maw is to expand the depth of existing features and systems in Core Keeper with new content, improvements, and balancing, all while building up towards the reveal in 1.5 of what lies beyond Breaker's Reach. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40710988/84d43363bbb46c779acc6581bed77a15a1b92b94.png 1.3 – Riders of the Underground The first stop on the Road to the Maw brings all-new ways to traverse the underground. Coming later this year, we’ll be sharing more details on this update in due course, but we can tell you that we’ll be bringing some of the features we hinted at during our Reddit AMA to the game. All we can say is…giddy up 😉 While travel and transport will be a key focus of this update, that’s not all you can expect. Keep an eye out for things like a new sub-biome, weapons, enemy variety, new pets, progression rebalancing, a new legendary item, and more…including meaningful improvements to the mage and summoner playstyles based o...

    Community Update - July 2026

Hey Explorers, we hope you're having an awesome summer. We don't know about you, but here in the Northern Hemisphere, it has been incredibly warm and bright. You might be aware that in Sweden, it's customary for us to take some vacation time over the summer, and this is something we do as a business to ensure we're rested and reinvigorated for the remainder of the year. We've been spending some time away from our desks these past few weeks, but that doesn't mean we don't have time for a little community wrap up! What're Your Favourite Scenes? Scenes are unique pockets of the world that generate all over the map in Core Keeper. They can come in many forms, but you'll know you've found once because it will be distinct from the rest of your surroundings. Take the broken bridge in Azeos' Wilderness for example! You'll even find scenes created by your fellow Explorer's in the game thanks to the "Scene Makers" challenge we held towards the end of Early Access! Do you have a favourite scene? {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40710988/e885a24039e040f09a71d03ee1454f1283751fdc.jpg Core Keeper Map Tool Have you used the Core Keeper map tool yet? Co-created by Pugstorm's Ceddini and Soul Wade, as well as community members ZeroGravitas, Caigins, and Mz (with honourable mention to nineforty). The map tool allows you to upload your map files and filter them in such a way that you can identify areas you've not explored yet and narrow down the search for bosses and points of interest. Check it out here and watch this awesome video from Dakon the Mad for an explanation on how to use the map tool. Throwback Thursday ft Sunken Sea Enemies We get so many ✨ positive ✨ comments about our Bubble Crab and Tentacle enemies, both of which are beloved and in no way passionately hated by our community, so we thought you'd all love to see their concept art 😉 {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40710988/7abb68befa8df6e269c3a713e8df8fa04b1f17f7.png How to Make a Basic Mob Farm in Core Keeper We've been sharing lots of shorts ove...

    Community Update - June 2026

Hi Explorers! It's shaping up to be a scorcher of a summer here in the Northern Hemisphere. It's so hot, it's making the Desert of Beginnings look cool 🌞 We've got lots of fun community activity to share with you from the month of June, starting with a fun video that we hope some of our newer community members found useful! Resizing Tool Areas There are some Core Keeper tips and tricks that even veteran players might have missed. For instance, did you know that you can resize the area of equipment like shovels, hoes, and even the roofing tool? Check out our informative video here! Soundtrack Update! We updated our original soundtrack on Steam to include 2x unreleased concept tracks! These are titled "Mining Droplets" and "Nature Nuance" and were created by our very own Fredrik Präntare before we began work with Jonathan Geer! ✨ If you already own the soundtrack or Explorer's Edition (which includes our soundtrack), all you need to do is update the files in your Steam library to download the tracks! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40710988/7cd1f0540e8edfd66b4ea13d7b3a555f541ce2ce.jpg Which Is Your Favourite Cattle Colour? Our cattle come in all colours of the rainbow and some colours are more rare than others. When all is said and done, though, the original purple Moolin still has a firm place in our hearts. Which cattle colour is your favourite? {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/40710988/212f6a9f4e20c068f2a33798eae8fefb06031c65.png Heart Berry Flavour? We asked our community to tell us what they think a Heart Berry from Core Keeper probably tastes like and your responses did not disappoint! Here are a few of our favourites from this thread on X. "Sweet creamy and earthy, between a blueberry and a strawberry, but with some punch." - A J "I always think they taste like radishes" - Valnaer || Sphinx ENVtuber "The texture of a peach and the flavor of a strawberry and raspberry" - Khaos_Kowl "It tastes like Heart berry. Duh" - Ritchie SH IRL Notes From the Underground! Our community manager, Bridie...
