More and more and even... More?
The bad news Like the stories usually go, before the happy ending, there are some struggles. And unfortunately... They happened to me. As I wrote sometime ago, I bought new laptop and I was happy that development will go faster... It did not go exactly that way. The hard drive died after few months. The code was often pushed to the server, so no problem there. But I did not back up created textures for some time... Yes - the fault is mine. I was too excited with the stuff to think about the potential risks. So after recreating all the stuff with blender and substance painter, I regularly back everything to dropbox. The good news - the new introductory part Going to more optimistic news - all the content for milestone 5 is finished and in testing phase. What even more, I decided to add more content to it. The small start game tutorial, when our main character prepares to go out from home and player can test controls and game mechanics without worrying that something may happen to him.Below is YT video showing the new introductory part of the game:I will probably add more details to the living room later. Hide & SeekThere will be moment of hide & seek in game: Don't want to spoil too much about it ;DMapsThis is work in progress feature, but some locations will have a map. Maps will be like usual documents read only picture), but I think they still should provide a lot of help for players. There is also "Room Orientation" arrow in the upper left corner. The arrow indicates which direction leads inward into the room. There also maps which are "static", player cannot take them (they are attached to the wall), but we will be able to see our current position there. That's all for now. More news coming in future, and hopefully they will appear more often! Till next time! Cheers! WojciechRead full article on Community Announcements (wojciecham)AnnouncementsOfficial
Stay away from the bear
Unfortunately there was a break in the development related to my general health, so unluckily I will not be able to finish the project this year. The good news is that last few weeks I started pushing it forward really hard. And will probably go faster, because I ordered new - much stronger - PC (still, I will use the old one for testing purpose, to make sure it will run smoothly on slightly older machines). As for the project itself, I've come with a few more ideas for puzzles and locations, so I'm pretty excited with creating the new stuff. There were also some changes in UI due to the feedback from people who were testing the game, especially with the big numbers of documents. From now on, there will be indications if document is strictly related to puzzle. When solved, it will be indicated with checkmark. That's all for know, till next time and remember to stay away from the bear!Read full article on Community Announcements (wojciecham)AnnouncementsOfficial
The Work Continuous
Like often happens in the game dev world, there has been a delay. Hopefully the last time. I am not good at small talk, so I will do it in form of quick-self Q&A. Most of it, I've already shared on itch.io page. But I'll share also here, so everyone interested in the game can keep in sync with the news. What is taking so long? Well... Many things. Doing everything by myself is going longer than expected. And random events in personal also are not helping, but I am not going to look for excuses for myself. Often things are more time consuming than I thought, and besides, I am having a lot of new ideas that I want to implement. I also do not want to rush the project. They were some tests of the game with my friends, and were some changes due to their feedback. They game is not aiming to be a big AAA title (more like a half of an A), but that does not mean I want to create something that is not fun at all. Can't you just use an AI, or ask someone for help? I have my own vision of the game. I do not want to broken by anyone (or by some tool). Besides... I'm having fun while creating this game. So what now? When it is gonna be released? Hard to tell. For now I've moved the date by one year (Q4 2025). The game is completed in something like 70%, the number of rooms in the game have already exceeded 150. The good news is that the work continuous, just is taking more than I planned. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44055110/b3a386e008b3ce22d402bb839aab61c8a1348974.jpg {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44055110/279274c7c02f9a934ba6b8952175878a7f3f1a69.png {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/44055110/670cbab8e94f18015976093aec8301325f85fb77.pngRead full article on Community Announcements (wojciecham)
