XP leveling speed calculator

Work out how long it'll take to reach your next level, based on your XP-per-hour rate and how much XP is left.

This is a single-level estimate for whichever level's XP requirement you enter — it doesn't know that most games need progressively more XP at higher levels, so re-run it with the new figure each time you level up rather than treating one result as a multi-level forecast.

Enter your XP rate and how much XP is left to see the time.

Worked example

Say you're earning 1,200 XP per hour and have 9,000 XP left to your next level: 9,000 ÷ 1,200 = 7.5 hours.

That 7.5-hour estimate only holds if your XP rate stays roughly steady throughout — a slower session partway through would push the real time a bit higher, and a faster one would bring it down.

FAQ

How is the time calculated?

XP remaining to your next level, divided by your XP earned per hour.

Does this account for XP requirements getting bigger at higher levels?

No — it's a single-level estimate based on the XP figure you enter for the level you're currently working towards. For a multi-level projection, run it again for each level with its own XP requirement.

Does this work for any game?

Yes — it's a generic calculator based only on the numbers you enter, not tied to a specific game's data.

What if my XP-per-hour rate isn't steady?

Use a reasonable average from your recent play — the calculator assumes a constant rate, so a rough average is more useful than a single unusually good or bad session's number.

Can the result be negative?

No — the calculator only accepts non-negative XP-remaining and a positive XP-per-hour rate, so the result is always zero or a positive number of hours.

What if I enter 0 for XP remaining?

The result is 0 hours — with no XP left to earn, you've already reached the level.

What happens if I enter a rate of 0 XP per hour?

It isn't accepted — dividing by a zero rate has no meaningful answer, so the calculator asks for a positive rate.

Can I use decimal values for XP per hour?

Yes — any positive number works, including decimals, if that's more accurate to your actual rate.

Does the calculator project multiple levels ahead in one go?

No — run it separately for each level, since XP requirements typically grow at higher levels and this calculator only knows the single figure you give it.
