Tag cost calculator

See what it would cost to own every game currently tagged with a specific Steam tag, at today's prices.

This totals every game we currently track with the tag, at today's price — it's a snapshot, not a fixed number.

Same principle as the genre cost calculator, but for Steam's much larger, finer-grained community tags instead of the small set of broad genres. That means a tag total usually reflects a narrower, more specific slice of the catalog — "Roguelike" or "Souls-like" pulls in far fewer, more targeted games than a broad genre like "Action" would.

As with genre cost, this has no idea what you already own — it's a "cost to own everything with this tag, from scratch" figure, using today's live prices including any active discount, not the original list price.

Worked example

Say a tag has 3 tracked games priced £14.99, £24.99, and £4.99. Total: £14.99 + £24.99 + £4.99 = £44.97. Average: £44.97 ÷ 3 = £14.99.

That £14.99 average happens to land exactly on the middle-priced game in this particular set — a coincidence of these three numbers, not a rule. With a different mix of prices, the average would sit somewhere between the cheapest and most expensive title, not necessarily matching any one of them.

FAQ

How is this different from the genre cost calculator?

Genres are a small, broad set (Action, RPG, Strategy...). Tags are the much larger, more specific Steam community tags (Roguelike, Souls-like, Deckbuilder...) — this calculator uses that finer-grained list instead.

Does this include games I already own?

No — there are no user accounts or libraries yet, so this totals every tracked game with the tag regardless of what you own.

Why might the total change from day to day?

Prices and discounts change, and the catalog itself grows as more games are added and tagged — the total reflects whatever is tracked right now, not a fixed snapshot.

What are Steam community tags?

Labels the Steam community applies to games to describe gameplay style or themes — much more specific than the small set of broad genres, and there are hundreds of them.

What if I search for a tag with no games?

The result shows zero games tracked and no total — there's nothing to sum up.

Are prices shown here list prices or current prices?

Today's live tracked price, including any active discount — not the original list price.

If a game has multiple tags, is it counted more than once for one tag search?

No — each game is counted once per tag you search for, regardless of how many other tags it also has.

Can I use genre names like "Action" here instead of a tag?

No — this picker searches Steam's community tags specifically. For broad genres, use the separate genre cost calculator.

How is the average price per game calculated?

Total cost divided by the number of games counted, using today's prices including discounts.
